There were many researches previously, which tried to explain how different socioeconomic factors influence academic achievements of children. However there exists a parameter, whose influence is rarely investigated in world studies, and has never been investigated in Russia. That is the presence of grandparents, who take care of the child, in the family. The current research attempted to spread a light on this topic. The research is conducted on the data from RLMS. The influence of grandparents on academic results of children from three age groups is considered: 6-10 years, 11-15 years, 16-18 years. Ordered probit model is used for regression.
