The Mobile Service for Restaurant Menu Based on Temptales

Information recognition from photos is a task, which received a significant amount of attention, especially during the now. It is caused by the wide range of opportunities for commercial usage, there are a lot of processes, which use or can use image recognition. The object of the development is a client-server application, through which users will be able to transform restaurant menu texts to structured format. Client side of service is an iOS application, which written in Swift programming language with usage of such frameworks as Alamofire, PromiseKit for communication with server and others. Server side of service is written in Python with Flask microframework. Tesseract library is chosen for text recognition. Client communicate with server using REST API. In this work the basic functions created by service, the rationale and description of the selected architectures and also shows the details of the technical implementation of both the client and the server. The paper provides main functions of developed service, the rationale and description of the selected acrhitectures, libraries, methods and also details of technical realization of server side and client side are shown.
