One of the main directions of the development of Russian education is the formation of a civic position of children, modern governing documents provide the necessity of that. However, at the same time there is no clear formulation of the notion "civil position" (excluding the legal context), the concept of the "civic position of the teacher" is completely absent. Therefore, there is the special sphere of interest to understand the indicators by which the teachers themselves estimate the civil position and the way of its manifestation. That is why the goal of research is the set of parameters (indicators) of the professional activity of the teacher of the general education school, which is a manifestation, realization of the civic position of the teacher, thus forming a civic position of the students. To achieve the research goal, the vignette method was used as the leading method, which is based on a quantitative logical-combinatorial method of investigation. To obtain the variables used in the creation of vignette cards, an interview was conducted with the principal of the school and the main parameters of the manifestation of the civic position of the teacher were revealed. The interrogation was conducted taking into account the classification of teachers regarding their experience, age, the subjects they teach, the level of education and the presence or absence of mentoring. During the comparative analysis of individual groups, significant differences were revealed in the notion of the civic position of the teacher in certain parameters. The assumption of a possible divergence of guideline exposure about the civic position of the teacher (director's views) and the views of the teaching staff was confirmed. Key-words: teacher, civic position, teacher’s civic position, vignette method, manifestation of civic position, guideline exposure.
