The Play "Fire" by V. Tendryakov: the Cheracters of Heroes and Life Value Reflected in the Play

Master’s thesis “The Play "Fire" by V. Tendryakov: the Cheracters of Heroes and Life Value Reflected in the Play” studies the system of the characters and thus the images of the play together with the heroes’ philosophy of life. Themaingoalof the study is to show the basic set of values of the characters (in comparison with Tendryakov’s prose). The controversy between the characters, unfolding due to the destruction of the forest and village for the sake of building a new comfortable housing and expanding the state farm, grows into a confrontation between the authorities and those for whom the ruin of their native places is a crime. The author shows that any arguments of logic cannot convince the leaders for whom the end justifies the means, they are ready to make a deal with the conscience for the sake of the goal and own benefit. V. Tendryakov sets the reader thinking about how important it is not to go on a leash of the majority, to have honesty and courage to defend your own opinion. As a result, the character who has not been taken seriously becomes spiritually stronger. The hero who worries about people and tries to awaken in them a sense of beauty wins morally. The proposed approaches to the analysis of the play can be used in the school course of literature.
