Young Offender Institutions of Russian Empire in the Second Part of XIX Century: the History of Creating

Annotation The Timelines of the Topic. The scientific novelty is connected with the establishment of new materials and sources about history of Young Offender Institutions of Russian Empire in a school programme and the question of methodic ground for their usage is also very important. The Aim of the Research. Defining the peculiarities of penitentiary system to make the tasks and exercises in course “The History of Russia” which satisfy the demands of Federal Educational Standard and historic and cultural standard. Tasks: • to define the etymology of juvenile justice in native history; • to define the peculiarities of formation of the system of Young Offender Institutions of Russian Empire in the Second Half of the XIX century; • to work out the methodic recommendations to prepare students to work with historic sources in the format of State Exam, Olympiad tasks and with the aim of usage them at History lessons in specialized classes . During the process of our research we came to the conclusion. The peculiarity of the development of Young Offender Institutions in Russia in XVIII – XIX was the fact that social structures and charity societies were more interested in this process than the State itself. The society was more interested in the system of the patronage of the juvenile young offender than the State. The representatives of Russian intellectuals, political authorities organized young offender institutions and orphanages according to the principals of charity. Besides, they gave material and moral support to these institutions . The usage of historic sources gives us an opportunity to personify the educational process, it helps to get rid of the process of modernization the past events. Practical significance. The materials of this research can be used at History lessons in specialized classes (10 -11), during special courses, during making some scientific researches and projects.
