This research is devoted to identification of features of the artistic G. Yakhina’s world and her author's individuality, as well as to determination of possible influence of L.E. Ulitskaya’s prose on the novel "Zuleikha opens her eyes". The dissertation contains research of reasons of literary success of the novel "Zuleikha opens her eyes", which became a winner of three prestigious awards. In order to achieve the goal, the dissertation provides a comparative analysis of the novel by G. Yakhina "Zuleikha opens her eyes" and novels by L.E. Ulitskaya ("Medea and her children", "The Case of Kukotsky", "Daniel Stein, the translator", "The Green Tent", "The Ladder of Jacob"). The author of this dissertation considers features of artistic world of writers are at the level of problems, the system of images, genre singularity, the most used narrative strategies are identified, among which one can call the "mosaic" narrative, mythology, intertextuality, cinematography.
