The public discussion about the film ‘Matilda’ by Alexei Uchitel is a representative case of how public sphere and public opinion is organized in Russia. The purpose of my research is to determine the specifics and problems of the public discussion in Russian media of the 2010s. The key methods of the study are analysis of texts in the media, narrative analysis and expert interviews.
