Particular Qualities of Film Reviewing in Russia From 2010 to 2017: YouTube Users’ Impact on Film Industry

This paper is devoted to the specifics of Russian film criticism from 2010 and to the present day in general, as well as to the influence that YouTubers make on the process of filmmaking and film distribution in Russia. The study is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. In the first part the culture of participation in the modern world and different features of the Internet and YouTube influence, in particular on Russian media industry, were studied with the help of such methods as study of relevant sources on the given topic, analysis, comparison and systematization. In addition, there is a description of the current state of the professional sphere of film criticism in Russia and a classification of Russian YouTube blogs about cinema. In the second part, using the method of interviewing famous filmbloggers and analyzing the preferences of the audience through a survey, it was possible to examine the opportunities of amateur reviews to make influence on the sphere of cinematography in Russia.
