Statistical Analysis of the Investment Attractiveness of Russian Regions

Investments play an important role in every country’s economy. Studying of factors and patterns of investment attractiveness is necessary to promote politics which stimulate investment inflows to some backward regions. According to rating of investment attractiveness distribution of Russian regions in term of their investment attractiveness is very heterogeneous. The main goals of this research are estimation of factors which influence investment flows in the most way and classification of Russian regions in terms of their differences of investment attractiveness. The factors were converted to Principal Components which will be used in regression and cluster analyses. Statistical analysis gives an opportunity to estimate influence of factors of economic and scientific development. Hierarchical clustering and coefficients of concentration do not show significant heterogeneity of investment attractiveness.
