Film posters hold a special place among advertising posters. This scope of the poster appeared due to the development of cinema and began to shape up as an independent genre of poster art in the pre-revolution period with the emergence of silent cinema. The popularity of cinema in the Soviet society was so tremendous, so that the film was given a huge advertising part. The initial stage of development of the Soviet cinema in the 20s was an experiment with shape, font and color. These movie posters were distinguished by originality and straight-forwardness. There were many of the great artists-constructivists who worked with posters, such as Alexander Rodchenko, who created the famous posters for the "Kino-eye" Dziga Vertov, the brothers Vladimir and Georgii Stenberg, who created the famous poster for "a man with a camera" and gave the world more than 300 posters. All innovations of cinema of the USSR of the 30s were displayed in the film poster. The role of the poster was a respectable presentation of the new film to the public. The main thing of the film poster of this period is the image of the key point of the plot of the film, or the major characters. Font ceases to play a key role in the composition and becomes more of the inscription to the image. This visual research will provide the idea of what trends existed in the Soviet film poster and what their changes were associated with. The research has showed a movie poster using the most interesting methods of work with the font. In the mass production of posters advertising of various films not so often the original techniques can be seen, as artists could not always find an interesting approach to the creation of a movie. Despite this fact, the Soviet film poster still remains a subject of study for many years, as it was an important indicator of sociocultural changes and values in the USSR.
