Electoral Systems Influence to Constitutional Design

The main aim of master dissertation on "Electoral Systems Influence to Constitutional Design" is to ground the concept of influence of electoral systems on constitutional design, identify directions of this influence and the main consequences of using certain electoral systems, by taking into account the basic theoretical provisions of the science of constitutional law, analysis of foreign and Russian legal literature, the current practice of electoral processes. This paper formulates the definition of the concept of "constitutional design" and highlights its main elements, analyzes the evolution of electoral systems, reveals the impact of electoral systems on party systems, the effectiveness of public authorities, the implementation of the principle of checks and balances and the implementation of basic human rights. The practical significance of the study lies in identifying trends in the development of electoral systems in Russia and the world, trying to identify the most suitable electoral system for the State Duma elections of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, substantiating the limits of constitutional regulation of electoral systems, identifying the main features of the correlation of electoral and party systems.
