Improvement of Logistics Service Management by the Example of a Manufacturing Company

The purpose of graduate qualification work (GQW) is to improve the management of logistics services in the automotive industry company. The objectives of the GQW are: to study the obtained information about the company, to determine its place in the market; to analyze the current situation of the company and to make a conclusion about the stage of its development; to identify key issues within the company, which influence the level of logistics services; to conduct an analysis of the literature in order to find problem-solving tools; to carry out an internal audit of the company to identify the reasons for the decrease in the level of logistics service in the company; to formulate proposals aimed at improving the level of logistics service and solutions found in the course of audit; and to assess the economic effects from proposed activities. The following issues have been identified during the analysis of logistics activities: long delivery time and a lot of late deliveries, and the lack of cross-functional coordination. The object of study is a manufacturing company. Scope of activity is the production of sporting goods. This GQW has come with the following recommendations: use of free capacities of the warehouse cross-dock for storing a part of the regular assortment, improvement of crossfunctional coordination when performing an order by compiling a communicative matrix and developing key performance indicators, developing a scheme for improving the management of logistics services. The economic feasibility of the practical application of the proposed recommendations was proved. As a result, the ROE ratio in the model of strategic profit grew by 1.6 %.
