Determinants of Foreign Market Selection for Airline Companies: by the Case of Garuda Indonesia's Planned Entry to Russia

Wisnu Tribuana Supriyadi, a master’s degree student at HSE, attempts to explain the Determinants of Foreign Market Selection for Airline Companies. Taking into consideration of traditional models of IMS theory, the author tries to test its validity by using the case of Garuda Indonesia’s planned entry into Russia as an example. The first part deals with researching the different models of IMS theory. The second part explains the Garuda Indonesia case and the various factors affecting the case within the subject of IMS. The third and final part is the findings to the topic according to self-analysis and supporting evidence from reliable sources. The thesis should shed light on the rationality of IMS theory and contribute to studies surrounding IMS. Supporting evidence, facts, and statistics have been gathered by the author from the interviews of key people, reliable reports, and articles.
