In this work the author is observing the military and political relations of China and India in the last 20 years. Geographical location of two countries automatically makes them geopolitical rivals, their strategic interests clash in security, politics and economic spheres. In this work were find out the threats, which both actors carry for each other. China seeks the ways to secure its routes of «One belt, one road» and «Maritime silk road», thats’s why Beijing is increasing the volumes of investment in port infrastructure of South Asian countries, which later can be modified in military bases. In addition, PRC continues to increase its military budget. All that arouse concern of the traditional region hegemon - India. At this stage, New Delhi lacks its own military, economic and political forces to resist the "Chinese threat", so in recent years, India's relations with the United States had leveled up. India needs Washington, because it is the strongest and only possible options for countering the "Chinese threat" in the region. The author also proved that in the near future there will not be real military clashes between India and China, otherwise it will have a catastrophic influence on economics of both countries, which will also affect to the level of influence of both actors in the region and in the international arena.
