In recent years, the international M&A landscape has shown its robustness and diversity, with technology M&A being on the top of the trends. The acquisitions of the technology companies are not only widely discussed in open media, but also make it the leading industry by the number and by the value of conducted deals (Deloitte 2017a). The share of cross –border M&A is also constantly increasing (J.P. Morgan 2017), and technology companies actively participate in such deals both as acquirers and as target companies. Cross-border M&A activity of international IT services companies, which in 2012 accounted for 38% of the whole technology industry is not covered actively by the researchers. At the same time, the volume of M&A, both cross-border and domestic, conducted by such companies, has been stably growing since 2009 (IMAA Institute 2018). In our research thesis we aim to complement the existing fragmented research in area of cross-border M&A of IT services companies and try to define its peculiarities. We consider the research actual and significant, taking into the account the existing trends.
