State Language Securitization Issue as a Mechanism for the Consolidation of Society: Cases of Ukraine and Latvia

The speeches of public figures from Ukraine and Latvia were studied with the use of the method of content analysis, a comparative analysis of the results was carried out. On the basis of the data obtained, a conclusion about the different properties of securitization of the state language in the two countries has been made. The mechanisms for consolidating the society through discourse on the official language are described.
