Improvement of Measures Supporting Export Activities of Small and Medium Businesses in Russian Federation

The development of the export potential of small and medium-sized enterprises is the strategic direction of the economic activity of the Russian Federation at the present stage. Improvement of measures aimed at changing the structure of exports, increasing its volume and increasing the number of SMEs engaged in export activities. In connection with increased competition at the international level, the development of export activities of SMEs is relevant. Small and medium business represents a great deal of flexibility, a high level of coordination within the company and individual execution of each project. To achieve these goals, it is necessary to reduce the barriers between government agencies and SMEs, to increase the information base and to stimulate the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. It is necessary to select companies from priority industries to provide consulting assistance and realize their external economic potential. Modernization of support measures for SMEs is necessary at the federal and regional level. Dissertation reveals the barriers that Russian companies face when working in international markets. In addition, an assessment was made of the impact of government support measures for SMEs on the country's exports, the international experience in developing SME exports and land recommendations for improving export promotion measures.
