This paper is devoted to the study of the contradictions in Russia's implementation of foreign policy in the field of integration in post-Soviet space after 2014 with similar strategies in similar situations by other countries - regional leaders. The dependence of the effectiveness of traditional strategies on the severity of the economic and foreign policy crisis was revealed.
