The Impact of the Sanctions Policy on the Agricultural Sector of Russia

Economic and political cooperation between Russia and countries that have imposed anti-Russian sanctions has been extremely dynamic since the beginning of the tense situation to this day. These measures have undoubtedly affected not only Russia's economic stability, but also the country's place in the international arena. The sphere of agriculture, which is directly connected with the imposed sanctions regime, did not stand aside either. Understanding whether positive or positive changes were caused by sanctions in the Russian agriculture sector will shed light on the assessment of the success of the import-substituting policy. In particular, it would be possible to determine for whom this policy was ultimately more successful and to assess the progress in Russian import substitution and providing the country with food on its own.
