The study of the political dynamics of China's medieval history attracts an increasing number of scientists around the world. Nevertheless, many important periods have not been investigated yet, many fundamental historical sources have not been introduced into the scientific circulation of Western sinology. This research is aimed at investigating the political processes taking place during the first period of the emperor Renzong reigning, and at determining their main subjects and patterns. To this aim, two chapters of the historical chronicle «Song Shi», one of the most important sources for this period, were translated. Based on the materials of the chronicle, tables with the distribution of information into sections were compiled. Also graphs that enabled to visually observe the political dynamics in the period under study were drawn up.
