Mentoring as a Communication Element of Adaption System for New Employees in Mail.Ru Group Limited

The work contains the study of the adaptation period of new employees, who took part in the mentoring system of Mail.ru Group Limited. The author described various approaches to the mentoring system in Russian and international practice, developed and conducted the survey among company's employees to identify links between the presence or absence of a mentor during probationary appointment and the adaptation period. It was found that the mentoring institute in the company is perceived as a guarantee of "psychological support" for a new employee, the mentor helps to adapt to the conditions of the work process. It was also found that work in the company is attractive, during the adaptation period, support from the mentor is seen by the employee as necessary to adapt to the new work as efficiently as possible. At the same time, it was revealed that the presence or absence of a mentor does not affect the level of fears of a new employee at the company regarding the working process. The results of the research can be used to improve the existing mentoring system in the company.
