Certain aspects of women's lives are deeply politicized and are a reflection of sexist power structures. The ideologists of post-feminism declare that women have already made significant progress due to feminism, which has already outlived itself, so one should simply enjoy its fruits. This call actually cement the patriarchal system. To understand whether this is really so, it is necessary to critically comprehend the discourse and, at the same time, analyze the discursive nature of power relations. Identity, like any sign, is constantly at the center of an actual or potential struggle to fix the values, like the problem of violence. Despite the fact that the theory of violence was developed relatively long ago, in-depth studies devoted to its verification on the objects of pop culture, moreover, in such a narrow subtopical of violence against women is relatively small. In addition, it is interesting to get an idea of the representation of violence in the Russian media. The work is studying the Russian film discourse on the example of the 10 most cash Russian films. The results are complemented by a survey revealing the connection between the attitude to violence and its perception in the cinema.
