The Financial and Legal Status of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation

The present paper studies the financial aspect of the legal status of the Bank of Russia. The author analyzes the legal regulation of the Central Bank’s position, defines its legal nature as a legal entity of public law, examines the purposes and main functions of the Bank of Russia, and identifies the legal effect of its normative acts. The author comes to the conclusion that the Central Bank of the Russian Federation has a special financial and legal status which determines its significant role in the process of implementation of the state’s financial activity.
