Mobile Application Prototype Development for the Enrollees of the Educational Programs “Journalism” and “Media Communications” of the Higher School of Economics (Project Work)
Media Production in Creative Industries
(Master’s programme)
2018
Every year, about 500 applications are submitted to for each of the "Journalism" and "Media Communications" educational programs at Higher School of Economics. For most school children and members of their families, the choice of an educational program is a complex and extensive process. Schoolchildren begin to prepare their applications to the universities in advance by choosing a priority educational program for their admission, often as early as 10th grade, and sometimes even earlier. Together with their parents, they collect the information about programs they are interested in, study the statistics of the past admission years, get acquainted with the rules and strategies for application, attend open house days and events for professional orientation.

This project aims to create a mobile application prototype for the applicants of the educational programs "Journalism" and "Media Communications" of Higher School of Economics, which will contain the necessary and relevant information on admission to the programs. In addition to accessing the admission information, it will be possible to communicate with Higher School of Economics’ School of Media representatives, get acquainted with the programs’ curricula, read the comments from students and teachers, follow the admission calendar, find routes to desired university locations, and receive timely notifications on any changes related to the admission to the "Journalism" and "Media Communications" educational programmes.

This project consists of a theoretical chapter and a prototype for the mobile application.
