The analysis of key features of management of foreign economic activity of the border regions of Russia is presented on the example of the Republic of Karelia. The thesis contains the results of the study of the features of management of foreign economic activity of the border regions: the basics of management of foreign economic activity at the regional level are explored, the features of foreign economic activity of the border regions are determined, the foreign trade indicators of the Republic of Karelia are analyzed, the investment climate of Karelia is assessed as well as the priority directions for the development of the Republic of Karelia are proposed. Statistical, structural, logical and monographic methods of analysis are used in the thesis.
