This research paper is aimed to analyze the possibilities of the blockchain adoption in the supply chain of the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies. This thesis conducts a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis of the technology, together with case studies done by leading logistics companies. Furthermore, paper presents the case study of the possible blockchain adoption in the pharmaceutic industry. Finally, the conclusion and future research suggestions are made. This chapter gives an introduction to the blockchain technology (BCT), explains its basic working principle, as well as outlines the key terminology of the new technology. In addition, the focus and goals of the research are outlined.
