With the shift of the political and economic centre of gravity to Asia, India has ramped up efforts in the Asian-Eastern direction through the promotion of the "Look East" strategy. In this regard, the scientific thesis assesses the effectiveness of New Delhi's interaction with Southeast Asian countries, taking into account the role and importance of China in the region. Thus, the important question is raised, will be India able to take significant positions in the South-East Asia region in case of mainstreaming of the foreign policy "Look East" and shake China's positions in the foreseeable future.
