Actors , Institutions, and Transboundary Water Politics of the Central Asian States: a Case Study of Aral Sea

In our Master thesis – «Actors, Institutions and Transboundary Water Politics of the Central Asia States: a Case Study of Aral Sea» within which was analyzed the tendencies of Central Asian tranboundary water politics as well as explored main problems of water regulation and ways have been developed to resolve those issues. The task was to study and refine the theories of public policy and conflictology to the regulation of transboundary rivers, restoration processes of the Aral Sea, international institutions and actors role on the Central Asian transboundary water politics, the comparative analysis of other transboundary rivers and the development of practical recommendations for the mitigation of transboundary water regulation standoff setup in the region. Proceeding from the task in our master thesis, a series of questions were consistently examined such as background of transboundary water politics, options of the Aral Sea restoration and main interests of the actors. The main challenges and solutions are identified for further employment.
