Graphic design originated under the drying of various factors such as traditions, culture, history, etc. Design as well as music and art, differed at different corners of the earth. I wanted to take such a topic, where you could trace all the versatility of graphic design, namely in the part of posters. The theme of my visual research is "theatrical posters for the plays of William Shakespeare." The reason why I chose this theme is that Shakespeare's plays have been translated into all major languages of the world, and therefore his plays are being staged in many countries. It was interesting to trace what solutions in posters designers (poster artists) from different countries found in the past and now, because each of them had to rethink the established images. For the study, I chose five works by the playwright: Hamlet, King Lear, Macbeth, Othello and Romeo and Juliet. They are presented in alphabetical order, and I tried to unite the posters on the principle of a general idea. Posters, whose ideas were not repeated, are presented at the end of each chapter.
