This work examines the relationship between probability of bank resolution, as an alternative to liquidation, and a set of financial, macroeconomic and institutional variables in Russia in 2013-2017. We consistently build the logit models, adding the variables presented in quarterly form. It finds that net assets in log form show a positive linear effect, confirming the theory “too big to fail”. Resolution is more likely for regional banks and banks not participating in the Deposit insurance system. The average values of the current liquidity ratio increase the probability of resolution, and the average values of roa indicator contribute to the liquidation of the Bank. All foreign banks in the sample were liquidated. We do not find the relationship between probability of resolution and macroeconomic variables; however, this may be the result of the selected period and the specifics of the sample.
