Russia in Edmund Burke`s Annual Register (1762-1775)

The political and journalistic work of Edmund Burke aroused interest among the researchers studying various aspects of the political life of the Enlightenment. In this paper, an attempt is made to analyze the Yearbook of the Annual Register for 1762-1775 – the first period of the reign of Catherine II. It can be affirmed that the source in question reflects the perception and understanding of the domestic and foreign policy of the Russian Empire by the leading intellectual and political figure of Britain in the second half of the 18th century.
