According to the classical economic theory, individuals should be rational when then make the financial decisions, because the main idea of it is to maximize the profit and minimize the risk. However, it is not always true, because all of us (even investors) have their instincts and habits which can influence the investment decision. This thesis will describe how behavioral finance can influence M&A because it is one of the most important steps for the company.

We are going to provide the evidence of the importance of studying behavioral finance in Mergers and Acquisitions in the USA during the latest waves. The literature describes the rationality of financial decision under the force of different investment instincts. The empirical study based on the US market during the current M&A waves. The USA was chosen because of the number of M&A transactions.
