Factors of Russia-EU Energy Trade Cooperation

Russia and the EU are interconnected by intensive trade and economic relations. These relations can be a source of mutual benefits since both states are significantly dependent on energy resources: one as an exporter and the other as an importer. But in spite of that fact the trade relations between the countries are stifled by imposed sanctions, the lack of legislative framework or bilateral understanding. This paper is based on the theory of Michael Porter, gives an account of features of the complex process of Russia-EU energy trade and tries to determine the key factors of its prosper operation.
