Factors Associated with Individual Charity Giving in Russia

This study examines the factors associated with individual charity giving in Russia. Using the survey data of the Levada center made in 2015, an empirical study of the factors influencing the implementation of religious and secular charity is being conducted. The research tasks are to systematize the research of various countries on charitable activities; to formulate the motives and factors of donations; to carry out the analysis of the state of charity in Russia, namely to assess: the development of charity in modern Russia; legislative framework regulating charitable activities; economic incentives for philanthropists. As a result of econometric modeling, the factors influencing the probability of donations were identified, and margin effects of these factors were analyzed.
