Bankruptcies of Banks and Their Effect on Key Performance Indicators of the U.S. and Russian Banking Sectors

For the economy and capacity of any country, one of the main conditions is the stable operation of banks. Banks play a significant and important role, which is to finance the activities of commercial companies, also provide various kinds of financial services for the population and give access to the payment system. The paper analyzes the state of the banking system, compares the banking systems of the US and Russia. Recent crises have shown that for both countries the stability of the banking system is the basis for sustainable growth of the economy as a whole. Therefore, during the research, the concepts of the stability of the banking system were defined, and the system of banking regulators was examined. The interrelation between the banking sectors of Russia and the USA is revealed.The final stage of the analysis is a study of the impact of bankruptcy of the largest banks, as well as the change in the number of operating banks on the macroeconomic indicators of both countries.
