The Role of Investment Banks in Post-Crisis Recovery and the Achievement of Financial Stability (Based on the US Example)
The master's thesis is concerned with the issues of the role of investment banks in the US economy, and the impact of investment banks activities on the conditions and dynamics of the country's financial sector. Author analyzed the post-crisis changes in the investment banking sector, related to the specifics of financial regulation, in particular of the introduction of new regulatory requirements, as well as the transformation of functions of the banks. Special focus is devoted to the analysis of post-crisis investment banks performance indicators and indicators of financial stability of the US economy. Factors influencing the post-crisis recovery of the US financial system through the prism of the activity of investment banks are revealed. In addition, current problems and trends in the activity of investment banks are considered, and conclusions on the impact of changes in the activities of investment banks on the condition of the US financial sector are made.
