Copyright Protection in Modern South Korea: Tendencies and Challenges of the Information Age

Transition to the digital age goes hand in hand with the new challenges, arising, in particular, in the sphere of copyright protection. Our paper is aimed at revealing the major issues of legal regulation in the sphere of copyright in the Republic of Korea that appeared in the course of technological development and evaluating the approaches proposed by South Korean legislators to address these problems. The methods employed in the research include historical-genetic, comparative and structural-functional analysis. The findings are expected to be instrumental in stimulating further discussion of the subject.
