Today, trade preferences are one of the main ways to create incentives for trade between countries, thanks to which producers can export goods at reduced customs duties. This paper examines the main features of the preferential EU regimes towards Asian countries, as well as analyzes trends in the use of the EU preferences in general. Understanding the properties of the preferential system can solve a number of related problems, from demanding rules of origin for imported products to trade discrimination of certain groups of goods and even states.
