The conventional wisdom of managerial science — if we were to call it a science, not an art, — has quite a lot to say about what an executive ought and ought not to do when faced with a particular dilemma. Similarly, it allows to understand which skills and competencies are required to successfully execute the course of action prescribed and, by virtue of many a program offered under executive education section, how to build these.
