Improvement of the Planning System in the Trading Company

These days many companies face the need to increase planning processes accuracy in order to minimize negative consequences of demand volatility in a context of uncertainty. In such situations it is also important for companies to improve the effectiveness of many other business aspects, including processes of purchasing and demand planning. The purpose of this master's thesis is to develop recommendations for improving efficiency of planning system in trading company by the example of LLC “Prime Sport”. The object of the research is sales and operations planning system in one of the largest sports company in Russia - LLC “Prime Sport”. The subject of the research is improvement of the planning system in LLC “Prime Sport”. LLC “Prime Sport” has been the leading company on the sports good market for many years. However, recently company has been facing deficits with reference to decreasing of sales and increasing of inventory level. Therefore, the problem of increasing this company's efficiency is a current issue. Solving identified problems in the company’s logistics activities involves changes in its business-processes, organizational structure, as well as improving the planning system, considering many modern theoretical approaches in foreign practice of Integrated Business Planning. These solutions will allow to increase profitability of the company's assets and its profits, as well as reducing costs. The measures proposed in this paper should cause positive changes in the company’s performance, which determines practical significance of the results of this master's thesis.
