The British Empire and its Reform in the Writings of James Mill

This research is about the utilitarian movement in British Empire and it covers broad political and social context of political and social context. Utilitarians suggested new ways of administration control of colonies, competitive system of civil servants, election system, universal education system. In other words, there is no sphere where they have never participated. While, the number of utilitarians is rather wide, it seems relevant to focus on one of them - James Mill. The aim of this research is to define the influence of James Mill on the external and internal policies of the British Empire. The Main objects of this research are James Mill's political pamphlets and works relating to changes in the system of the Empire.
