Development of a Prototype System for Monitoring Electricity Consumption in the Residential Area

The project is intended to cover the process and the principle of operation of an exclusive technical monitoring system for electricity consumption in a residential area which pertains to the sphere of smart home systems. It ranks among quite modern investigations stimulating others to come closer to understanding the problems of excess electricity consumption and show how easy it is for an inhabitant to control electrical appliances in his home even being far away. Recent studies of such systems showed that the people need to monitor and control electrical loads, while existing analogues are too expensive for the average citizen. Due to advances in technology system basing on the Arduino microcontroller being developed will fill a gap among safe management of energy consumption and consumer budget. The results showed that this technical tool helps effect grater result, giving unprecedented safety for the existing electrical appliances while requiring a minimum of effort from the owner.
