American Diplomacy and Liberation Movements in South Africa in the 1970s

The topic of my research is mostly connected with liberation movements in South Africa in 70s. The whole study deals with the problems of apartheid that place in Africa in the 20th century, American diplomacy, that tried to conduct negotiations in Southern Africa in the period from the 1960s till 1980s. The purpose of the study is to learn the acting role and place of the United States diplomacy in the process of persuading white Rhodesian leader Ian Smith to accede to black majority rule, regulating crisis in South Africa and Namibia. Also, this research aims to survey the role of Henry Kissinger and his «shuttle diplomacy» in a step regulation of crises in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
