In case of local freight delivery, especially if it deals with small dispatches, automobile transport is the most efficient one to use. What is more, it is the most widespread type of delivery. In this context, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are of great importance. It is the tool that applied to optimize logistics business-processes, in particular, to cut time spending on route planning, and as a result – it is cutting costs on personnel and a transport downtime. Thus, the goal of the following work is to analyze various relevant GIS and an effect from their implementation in work process of a logistics company. The study will examine the company’s work experience without using GIS and the model of company’s workflow with using different GIS will be carried out. The research will show the recommendation on whether to use GIS or not, its advantages and disadvantages and economic results of GIS implementation. The following work has a potential to be used by companies that want to improve their business as the results will be based on a real practice.
