Today Russia relying on its competitive advantage is among leading arm suppliers to South-East Asian nations. At the same time, military-technical cooperation is one of few fields, where the interaction between the Russian Federation and the ASEAN countries is really palpable. Nevertheless, the restrictive measures of Western countries and the US Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) pose a threat to Russia-ASEAN military cooperation that may weaken Russian positions in the Asia-Pacific region as well as in South-East Asia. The study's objective was to identify prospects for further Russia-ASEAN military-technical cooperation in the face of sanctions.
