Student: Agapova Maria

Supervisor: Evgeny Kanaev

Faculty: Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs

Educational Programme: International Relations (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2018

In a rapidly changing modern world, prone to globalization processes, the actors of international relations are forced to seek new approaches for establishing international cooperation, for joint development and addressing the challenges of the present time. Inter-regionalism is one of the newest methods of establishing global interdependence. One of the most promising examples of such cooperation is the dialogue partnership between the EU and ASEAN, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2017. However, the study of EU-ASEAN relations has received very little attention in the scientific literature. The purpose of this study is to examine the EU - ASEAN partnership from its inception to the present time, identify and evaluate the main directions of their interaction based on the analysis of available data and the theory of complex interdependence.
