This work is concerned with the development of a method for authorship attribution of Russian literary works and with its software implementation. The proposed method was based on the approaches used in machine learning. The problem of authorship attribution was reduced to the task of multi-class classification, with initial training on texts with defined authorship, and further prediction of authorship for a set of anonymous documents. The developed method was approbated on a corpus of 120 texts by 20 authors, the best achieved quality of the method was 92 %. Beyond the approbation of the software implementation of the method, a series of experiments was conducted in order to determine the dependence of the quality of the algorithm on varying parameters of the original text set. Recommendations are given on the applicability of the proposed method and its program implementation. Scope of work – 62900 characters, contains 9 images, 5 tables, 25 references.
