Development of Methods for Discrete Optimization, Focused on Graphics Accelerators and Hybrid Systems

In this paper, we consider methods for solving global optimization problems with the use of graphic accelerators, analysis of various algorithms and their realizations. As the main optimization problem, the knapsack problem is chosen. The first chapter describes the formulation of the problem, as well as various methods for solving this problem. In the second chapter, algorithms for solving this problem with implementation on CPU and graphics accelerators using CUDA technology are proposed. The analysis of the possibilities of algorithms is carried out. The third chapter shows the results of testing the implemented software package, as well as a comparison of the effectiveness of implemented methods on various configurations of computer systems and with different initial conditions. The fourth chapter contains the results of the research carried out and the general conclusions of all the work.
