BROKEN PROJECT. The Concept of "Ruinism" as the Basis of Creation of a Fashion Brand

Student: Sidorova Tatyana

Supervisor: Ekaterina Sycheva

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Design (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 10

Year of Graduation: 2018

I chose this topic because for me Christianity is a natural habitat for spirituality building, it's my background and my source of inspiration. I decided to explore what is happening in the field of sacral, near-sacral and spiritual art based on Christianity. For me, it was considered to see how the aesthetics was built: not in the church itself, but around it, by the people and their interpretation of spiritual. I'm interested in the art based on Christianity, but not limited by it. I passed several stages during this project starting from modern iconography, contemporary sacral architecture, went through art in sacral spaces and based on Christianity, I was also interested in searching through "artefacts" which people made based on religion, but officially they're not ritualistic. As a result, I found out what are the best ways to explore this topic, enriched my main project, found "codes" and ways of expressing aesthetics of Christianity in art and in my future projects.
