Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Strategies of International Companies Running in Chinese Market

The environmental and social challenges in People’s Republic of China that become more and more daunting encourages government officials of China to conduct the policy encouraging multinational companies to adopt CSR and sustainable development strategies. Chinese stateowned companies are doing well in using their capital and resources to keep the balance between environmental problems and providing enough salaries for their stakeholders. The other companies: private Chinese and foreign companies are also using their strategies to coup with social issues, but it is quite difficult for them to maintain harmony between profit and costs needed to address those problems. This paper will examine CSR in Chinese market and the strategies of companies in terms of sustainable development. The aggregated information will be used to compare the CSR activity in Chinese market in over the world. The best CSR strategy defined through this study will aid companies in their policy making activity.
